The 4km stunning beach of Skala Eressos
Skala Eressos has perhaps the best beach on the island of Lesvos. With a length of 4km and a width of up to 400m, space is not a problem regardless of the season in which you choose to travel. Awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness and with shallow waters this is an ideal place to relax for everyone.
The beach, rather like the village itself, takes on a variation of contrasts and moods throughout the seasons and within those seasons offers the visitor every choice of activity and comfort.
From May to October there are fresh water showers available every few hundred meters or so to wash the salt water from your skin after a swim in the crystal clear waters here. Sun beds and umbrellas are for hire on an hourly, daily or weekly basis at very reasonable rates and water sports are available for those who want to have ultimate fun in the sea.
